TechyTools.in vs. upload-based tool sites

Sites like iLovePDF and Smallpdf are solid, full-featured tools — and worth using when you need something we don't build yet. The core difference is architectural: they process your file on their servers, we process it in your browser. Here's how that plays out in practice.

  TechyTools.in Typical upload-based tool
Where processing happens In your browser, on your device Uploaded to their servers, processed there
What happens to your file Never leaves your device Transferred (encrypted) and typically auto-deleted within 1–2 hours
Daily usage limit None Free tier commonly capped (e.g. a small number of tasks per day)
File size limit None beyond your device's own memory Free tier commonly capped around 25–100 MB per file
Account required Never Not required for basic use, but some features are gated behind sign-up
Cost Free, ad-supported Free tier plus a paid subscription for higher limits/extra features
Tool breadth for one file type (e.g. PDF) Growing steadily — merge, split, image⇄PDF, more added regularly Broader, more mature PDF-specific toolset (OCR, editing, e-signing, and more)

When to use an upload-based tool instead

If you need heavy PDF editing, OCR on scanned text, or e-signature workflows, those sites currently offer more depth in that specific area than we do. For everyday conversions, calculators, and document generation — the majority of what people actually need day to day — running entirely in your browser means no wait, no file size ceiling, and nothing of yours sitting on a third-party server even briefly.
